July 2010 we found out our apartment was raising rent and decided it was time to consider buying a home. We spent months looking just for information and prospectives, there was no rush. January 2011 a new listing popped up and we decided to take a look. After seeing many townhouses, scary foreclosures, and tiny places for high prices we were hesitant. I actually had to bring my dad along for the first trip out because Jerry was out of town. I loved the place, the price was great, and even my dad had a good feeling. Two days later, I brought Jerry to see the house and thank goodness, he also loved it. The process started. Offers, counters, approvals, and many stressful weeks later here we are, buying our first house.
My spare time has been spent looking at design ideas, browsing in stores, and watching lots of HGTV. My sights are set high but Jerry is keeping me grounded and realistic through the process. We will eventually have the perfect home for us and I cannot wait for that day!
In the words of the great Auntie Mame, "Live, live, live. Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death." Here is to living, in our very first house!
